What if Kurt Cobain and Ariana Grande had a Pokémon? Together you would get something like Hiqpy. The four piece band is playful and a bit stubborn. Their superpower is a blend of echoing adlibs and fuzzy guitars. The Amsterdam indie rock band broke through during Popronde 2023 as a 3voor12 Talent. Each show sparked stronger praise and growing industry attention. A fifteen minute set at Noorderslag 2024 convinced the rest of the country even though the band had not released a single note of music. More than forty festival shows followed in 2024 including Paaspop Appelpop Best Kept Secret and Into The Great Wide Open. Hiqpy won the Zonneprijs for musical talent joined the EKKO Class of 2024 and became Record Store Day Talent. Their limited live 7 inch became a collectors item. In late 2024 Hiqpy signed with Sony Music. Their debut single Something arrived in January 2025 written by Abir who moved from Tunisia to Haarlem at age two. The song explores letting go of religious cultural and social expectations to make room for love for others and for yourself. It was produced by Grammy winner Danton Supple known for his work with Coldplay U2 and Elbow. Something reached BBC Radio and became De Belofte on Belgian station Willy. Singles Red Flag Magician and Girl in Red followed in 2025. That year Hiqpy was named Volkskrant Talent. At Eurosonic Noorderslag they were chosen as the number one act by 3voor12 and became 3FM Talent of 2025. They were also nominated for a 3FM Award for Best Newcomer and selected as a Spotify RADAR artist. Again they played more than forty festivals including Pinkpop Rock Werchter Gent Jazz and Into The Great Wide Open. Their first headline show at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht sold out within a week. Their debut album will arrive in early 2026 followed by a club tour in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Ihre Superkraft ist eine Mischung aus schwebenden Adlibs und rauen Gitarren. Die Amsterdamer Indie Rock Band sorgte 2023 als 3voor12 Talent bei der Popronde für Aufsehen. Mit jeder Show wuchs das Lob und das Interesse der Musikbranche. Ein Auftritt von nur fünfzehn Minuten bei Noorderslag 2024 überzeugte das ganze Land obwohl die Band noch keine einzige Veröffentlichung hatte. Über vierzig Festivalshows folgten 2024 darunter Paaspop Appelpop Best Kept Secret und Into The Great Wide Open. Auch in diesem Jahr spielte die Band mehr als vierzig Festivals darunter Pinkpop Rock Werchter Gent Jazz und Into The Great Wide Open. Die erste eigene Headlineshow im TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht war in einer Woche ausverkauft. Anfang 2026 erscheint das Debütalbum gefolgt von einer Clubtour durch die Niederlande und Belgien.
